The Purpose of Organizations

It is the purpose of every organization to create added value for every person or group who either provides resources the organization needs to achieve its goals or has the means to prevent the latter.

An organization that fails to do so on the long run will lose its license to operate. Immediate consequences are stakeholder-specific: employees or other members will leave it, customers will turn elsewhere, vendors will supply lower quality or charge more, policy makers will increase taxes or increase regulation etc.

If the organization does not listen to all of them, it will put itself out of business. It is just a matter of time.
